EUE Screen Gems announces the latest expansion to the largest studio lot east of California. Stage 10 is now under construction. It will be the 3rd biggest stage in the United States and will have one of the largest special effects water tanks in North America. Stage 10 will be available for film and television production in the spring of 2009.
Stage 10 will provide film & television productions a column free 37,500-sf work area with a grid height of 45-ft and dimensions of 150-ft by 250-ft.
The Stage 10 tank will be 60-ft long and 60-ft wide with a center depth of 10.5 feet. The raised 5-ft steel walls will be 5-ft wide to accommodate dollies and rigging.
Stage 10 will allow large-scale productions the expanse for technologically advanced special and physical effects.
Stage 10 will join nine existing stages ranging in size from 7,200-sf to 20,000-sf that have accommodated over 350 film, television and commercial productions. Recent productions include "Nights in Rodanthe" for Warner Bros. Pictures, "The Secret Life of Bees" for Fox Searchlight and the sixth season of the CW hit drama "One Tree Hill."
EUE/Screen Gems Studios and the 650 world-class local crew can comfortably accommodate up to five productions at one time. The 50 acre full service lot includes production office suites, shops, wardrobe with laundry, dressing rooms, warehouses, transportation, catering, effects, rigging, screening room, graphic arts, sound and casting. The on-the-lot-lighting and grip equipment is owned and maintained by the studio. It is the largest operation of its kind in the Southeast.
